The cleans are totally wrong. Every other video you make is fantastic, I just think maybe kettlebells aren’t your thing. At least for now.

The improper form of these exercises is implicitly conceded with the use of beginner’s weight by a (putative) instructor. Improperly Muscling the weights up with your arms becomes prohibitively difficult at 24 kg (~53 lb) and up. Perhaps this instructor uses KBs as another tool to break up the monotony of regular weight training, in which case his rather casual and naive approach to KB exercises is somewhat understandable and excusable. However, to anyone viewing this video, please take the

Def not hating, because there seems to be plenty of these here, but I would suggest collaborating with a KB instructor on this vid. Whether it be him demonstrating while you dictate the routine that you have put together (because it is a good one) or the other way around, you just have a lot of people here who look up to your professional advice because you get results. A lot of these people though are not in your kind of shape and could get hurt with this form. Happy training.

Most important fail you`re doing is using your shoulder all power from the swing shall come from the hips.. Your shoulders shoulld be relaxed

Scott just so you know lots of Kettlebell instructors are linkong to your video just to show others how BAD form can be!! They are actually making you a laughing stock, I think you should seriously consider removing this as you are rapidly losing credibility!

Scott, check out an RKC or HKC course by Dragon Door, it would help you learn and teach kettlebells. It helped me a lot to learn proper technique

Scott, I’m going to guess that very little of your admirable physique was due to kettlebell tranining.

As others have said look at Steve Cotter, Lauren Brooks, Pavel etc. But seriously leaving this video up with this bad technique hurts your credibility IMO. I’m going to guess that very little of your admirable physique was due to kettlebell tranining.

@coolboy065 No, he is not. He’s not even competent let alone “the best there is” (nice spelling by the way). Look into credible Trainers in the likes of Steve Cotter, Pavel Tsatsouline, Shawn Mozen, Mike Mahler, and a few others, these are the true leaders of the kettlebell game.

@Thefoureyedprick DO NOT TAKE THIS VIDEO AS PROPER TECHNIQUE…. seriously look up some of the true kettlebell instructors. Steve Cotter, Shawn Mozen, Mike Mahler, Pavel Tsatsouline, Lauren Brooks, and the list goes on. You just need to know who’s advice to follow.

@ScottHermanFitness which kettlebell instructor are you certified under? I know the head of almost every certification body available so I can check your cred.
Because to be frank yes you are doing everything incorrectly, and possibly dangerously.

wow, this guy doesn’t know anything at all about kettlebells. how embarrassing!

Badabuum1985 September 1, 2010 at 7:42 pm

Why do you make an instruction video if you have not much experience with exercises? It is even dangerous if somebody trys to copy your way of doing what should look like kettlebell exercises. Do not pretend to be an expert if you are not one.

Oh my lord please dont anybody copy these moves – the cleans are simply dreadful form, I stopped watching as this is so far removed from proper form. Your elbow should never leave your side on a clean, your TGU is totally wrong mate, Your snatch leaves your wrist hyper extended- do that with a 32 kg and you will be visiting your local Hospital.
Scott I dont hate you – you actually seem like a nice Guy, and you look as fit as a pro boxer – but the truth has to be said , you need guidance on proper technique.
Best Regards Jonathan
