So I was trying to understand what this exercise does. there is barely a squat so not much of a leg workout. Your swinging the KB freely so there is no resistance. IDK is it a shoulder exercise or is this some kind of cardio. I obviously have never done it before. What does it do?

For beginning clients I still start with the squat but as they move on we use less and less knee bending. Thanks for commenting

Obviously this isn’t a 1MR kind of thing. So how does one determine the proper KB weight?

nice vid. i notice that you go down to almost a full squat position. i see many videos where only a slight knee bend is used. is one variation safer/better than the other? thanks.

just an immature question, wouldn’t one be swinging that a little close to ones nads?

I have modified exercises to suit myself and clients my whole career. Everyone has different strengths, weaknesses and ranges of motion. There are many different ways to do the KB swing but if the technique you are doing feels good then stick to it. Thank you for watching and commenting on my video!

just an amatuer opinion: shouldnt you be swinging the bell back and forth instead of lifting it from between legs? an rkc qualified trainer especially instructed me to “let the bell swing back. and your lower back goes back before the squating happens. you should feel a stretch on your hamstrings..”
