dragondoor001 asked:

At Pavel and Dragon Door’s acclaimed kettlebell instructor certification workshops, the RKC candidates are divided into teams. One representative from each team competes in a technique contest based on key kettlebell lifts.

oh really? enlighten me!

I’ve gotten an itch for kettlebells ever since I heard from them form Pavel’s vids and books. What’s wrong in the technique?

Such a shame…teaching and promoting poor technique.

I wonder if Valery and Pavel would go head to head… who might win? in say a snatch competition…

This is the best video I have found that show the technique & it also show women not just macho men or a man grunting.

Good technique always looks easy, so that’s part of it.
It’s not only about technique but also the weight involved, the tension, speed and breathing. The better your technique, tension speed, focus etc… the more results you will get from working with any size kettlebell.

If you’ve never tried kettlebells and you are a martial artist my guess is you’d love it if you had the chance to attend a RKC certification. The similarities between hardstyle MA training and kettlebell are significant.

yeah i havent used kettlebells yet. i just thought this was the work of normal people. so how hard is it to do this, doesnt look incredibly hard, or is it more about the weight involved?

slaterzzz: With all due respect, having been to a RKC cert & a RKC myself I know most of the certification participants are martial artists, quite a few professionally so.

What looks easy in this video is the result of 100s-1000s of reps that each participant performed on their own in preparation for this certification in addition to reps performed at the course itself under the guidance of Pavel and experience RKC instructors.

Scott Stevens, RKC

get a yogi in there and they would destroy them all. all these moves are simple for the person who practices yoga, dance, or martial arts, besides the martial artist could kick them in the balls, no pun intended

Must be very hard to judge, every one looks really good. I’d hate to do it in front of Pavel, he’s the man.
